  1. I am a SAFE doctor; avoid any exotic practice, if it is urgent, deal with it as urgent and mention it, discuss your patient  in MDT, do not start Chemo without consenting....etc
     

  2. The patient is the centre of my care; Treat the patient not only the disease, eg; Ceck if there are any religious beliefs,  JW could/ could not refuse specific blood components.
     

  3. I know the guidelines .. which ? This is a UK exam, your answer should reflect a solid knowledgs and familiarity withUK guidelines. Sources will be provided to you by our team upon registration.
     

  4. I know the practice in UK ? If you are a UK trainee, you need to tell your examiner that " I have done this befoe" eg: TTP are treated in national centres not in a DGH!
     

  5. I know NHS structure .... ? You know the role of GPs and will incorporate them in the management, you will seek the support of the specialist nurses, you know what SHOT, MHRA, NHSBT are..etc.
     

  6. I am well organised; Be oragnised with your management and also with the strucuture of your answer. Your examiner can get satisfied or frustrated by how you answer the question. Try to make their life easier in correcting your paper by highlighting what you think is more important. Write in headlines and be decisive. 
     

  7. I am updated; Mentioning the name of the trials that your answer is based on or recent trials will give a very good impression and will mean extra marks, but it is not a pass or fail point.
