Course Structure

  Dates: Twice annually, January and July. Exact Dates for each course are pronounced closer to the course.

 Remember; the exam is held twice annually in March and in September 

​

  Course is 4 daysSaturday and Sunday   2 consecutive weekends

​

  • We start accepting registration ~ 4 months before the course. In March for July's course and in September for January's.

 

  • On registration, we will send Revision lists for each pillar of haematology ( Transfusion, Haem- Onc, General Haematology, Haemostasis, Lab..etc). This includes; 

  1. Comprehensive lists of topics that needs to be revised to meet the haematology curriculum needs, with suggested source/s for each title to meet the most updated UK practice and the examiners' expectations.

  2.  Revision list for the laboratory topics that need to be covered and suggested source for each title.

  3. An updated list of the major Haematology trials and the important ongoing trials that you need to know for your exam.

  • Our lead secretary is deeply experienced in the admins aspects of the FRCPath exams. She is trained to triage your questions during the journey of your revision.

 

  • 2 weeks before the course we will send an MCQ/EMQ sheet prepared exclusively by the course panel and revised to meet the themes, the trends, the structure of the exam and the relevant guidelines. This will include regularly updated 180- 200 questions that cover all aspects of haematology. These questions will be left for the candidates to try themselves and prepare for the course revision.

 

   Our virtual course will take place as follows;

 

  • Saturday and Sunday X 2 weeks, 

    • 1st   Saturday           Transfusion Day

    • 1st   Sunday             General Haematology Day

    • 2nd  Saturday          Haemostasis Day

    • 2nd  Sunday             Haem-Onc Day

 

 A typical day is:    9 am - 5 pm

 

  9:00 : 12.45   Short Coffee breaks included

   Revision of the most hot topic with illustrative pictures, tables, comparisons, recent guidelines, diagnostics       specifications, management orientation,..etc

 

   12.45 : 13:30  Lunch break

 

   13.30 : 15:30       Short Coffee breaks included

   2 Hours lecture; How to approach an essay question in FRCPath-1 exam?

   This includes illustrative essays with model answers, a view on the practice and relevant guidelines, mock essays to    be answered and corrected in an interactive session, recent relevant trials..etc.

 

   15:45 - 17:00

   40 - 50 MCQ/ EMQ which were previously sent will be answered by our candidates to guarantee an interactive   mode  of learning. Answers will be explained by the lecturer with few comments and focus on previous exam themes.

 

 

   3 weeks before the exam day:

 

   Mock Essay Exam

 

   We will send a mock essay for all registered candidates which then will be corrected by previous FRCPath     examiners and then corrected papers will be returned to you to be a reminder of the weak points or the areas to   focus on developing before the exam.
